My full name, when written in the Eastern order, is Chen Moqian. My given name Moqian has the meaning of “crisscross footpaths between fields” in Chinese. I usually go by Mo Chen or just Mo, a name that’s generally easier to pronounce for non-Chinese speakers.

Movies I’ve watched recently include Abbas Kiarostami’s Koker trilogy (1987–1994). I’ve finished reading Malcolm Lowry’s Under the Volcano, and have started Gregory Hays’ translation of Marcus Aurelius’ Meditations. I find the Postmodernism Generator, the CS Paper Generator, and the High Energy Physics Theory Generator highly amusing.

I currently work at the United Nations Federal Credit Union (UNFCU) as the manager of design technology.
